We're proud of the TSN's accomplishments

The Sonoma Valley Education Foundation  (SVEF) funds the TSN’s recruiting and training efforts - and is thrilled with the TSN’s accomplishments since founding in 2006.

Sallie_Moore.cropped_jpg.jpgLed by Director Sallie Kyle Moore, the Teacher Support Network began in 2006 with seven volunteers who were determined to expand students’ educational opportunities. The program was piloted in March, 2007 with those seven volunteers in a Sonoma Valley High School classroom.

Having offered unique resources to high school teachers and administrators, the pilot program received rave reviews and began receiving funding from the SVEF in January, 2008.

The TSN today

Today, TSN has over 60 volunteers who –during this academic year – have logged over 3000 hours helping the community. This has greatly contributed to the enhancement and elevation of the overall position of Sonoma Valley High School.

Teacher Support Network thrives on its network of dedicated volunteers. If you’re interested in becoming a TSN volunteer, apply below! Or contact Sallie directly: 707-280-1570.

What teachers & volunteers are saying...

"I have only good things to say about them. There are no suggestions for improvement! Thank you so much for the work you and your colleagues do in order to support the teachers and students!"
     -Renate Kuprian, German Teacher

"I am going back to TSN! I love it and will put my name back in and hope to find a place for next year"
     - Michelle Scaiffe, Volunteer for Patty McVeigh, Remedial Reading

"SVHS teachers need help! They don't have the time to find volunteers and I doubt that the SVHS administration has resources that it could commit to such an effort. So, the provision of a structure for recruiting & assigning volunteers is of great value."

In a letter to a TSN volunteer...

"I'm done with my first semester at SSU and so far it has been great. I am very happy with my decision to come here. I guess it's true when they say 'college is what you make out of it.' I want to thank you again for all your help. I don't think I would be at this point if it were not for people like you. My GPA is officially 4.0!"
      - Bianca R., College Freshman
