 Jean Barnier Attorney MacConaghy & Barnier
| Jean holds a BA in government from Northwestern University, a master in
journalism and a law degree from Empire College. Prior to practicing
law, Jean was a middle school and high school teacher. Jean's
background in education and law will be a welcome addition to our
board. She is a 20 year resident of Sonoma and is one of our newest board member.

 Maggie Bafalon
Realtor with Coldwell Banker
| Maggie began her professional career in education as an Elementary School teacher and Jr. High School teacher in Nevada. She is currently a Realtor with Coldwell Banker. She has been a resident of Sonoma for 8 years and is the mother of one and a grandmother of two. Commenting on why she chose to be a SVEF board member she says "I believe we all have a responsibility to our children to provide the type of education that enriches their lives." |

Program Development & Trainer in Early Childhood Development
| Jan has a long history of being involved in education. She currently provides training to early childhood professionals. She is the Assistant Project Director for Desired Results and California Preschool Instruction Network. She was previously a special education teacher for 12 years and an Elementary school teacher for 14 years. Jan chose to become a SVEF board member because "It was a way to become involved in local education again." She has been a board member for two years. Jan has lived in Glen Ellen since 1972. She has two children.

Will Deeths started his career in education in 1998 as a
Student Teacher at Sonoma Valley High School. He then became as a Substitute Teacher at Altimira
Middle School. In 2000, he was hired as a History teacher and Activities
Director at Petaluma Junior High School he was then hired as a part time Assistant
Principal at Petaluma Junior. He went on to become a full time Assistant Principal
at Petaluma High School and later the. I Assistant Principal at Kenilworth Junior High in
Petaluma. In 2010 life and career came full circle, when he accepted the
position of Principal of Altimira Middle School. When not leading his Altimira
“Wolf Pack”, Will can be found with his wife Tawnya (a Science teacher whom he
met when they both worked at Petaluma Junior High) and their two sons, William
(3 years) and Oliver (4 months).

 Jette Franks
Community Organizer & retired trade journal publisher
| Jette attended High School in Odense, Denmark and later moved to the U.K. where she lived for 30 years. She is a retired trade journal publisher and has two children. She has been a resident of Sonoma for the past 12 years and has served on the SVEF board twice. This first time for three years and most recently for the past year. When asked why she wanted to be a board member, Jette replied " Because I am appalled by how little respect local & federal government have for education. We need to educate our children well if we want to have a future."

CFO for Oakland-based private company
| Debra is an alumnus from UC Davis and UC Los Angeles. She hold a degree in Managerial Economics and is currently VP of finance and operations for a social media advertising company. Debra is married with four children and has called Sonoma home for the past 13 years. She grew up hearing and learning first hand about the trials and tribulations of California's public education system. Her father was a Superintendent of of Schools in Salinas, CA. "I learned the California system of collective bargaining, teachers strikes and Prop 13. I want to honor my late father by volunteering my time in support of public education."

| Michael is an organic farmer and former high tech expat. He has served on the SVEF board for the past several years. When asked why he uses his time to volunteer for the SVEF board, he replied "I've been passionate about education as a means for leading a productive, civic minded and responsible exixtence for my entire life. It just makes sense."

Complex Manager, Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC | Kevin holds a degree in Finance from San Diego State University. He is a past president of the SVEF and a long time board member and
supporter of public education. Kevin grew up here in Sonoma going to
the same schools he now supports through the foundation. Kevin is
married to his wife Sanette and they have 4 children spread between
elementary school to college. |
 Anne Kuschner / Board Treasurer
Professional Development Director, Napa Valley Office of Education
| Anne currently works as the Project Director of the Napa County Office of Education. She was previously the Project Director of Sonoma State University and School Administrator of Napa County Office of Education. Anne's background brings a wonderful insight about education to SVEF. She says "I want to give back to my community. I have a commitment to quality education, accessibility to education and early childhood education. Being on the board of the SVEF in a natural fit." She has been a resident of Sonoma since 1981.

| Susan attended Terra Linda High School in San Rafael, CA. and graduated with a Liberal Arts Degree from Sonoma State. She has been a board member for the past three years and a resident of Sonoma for the past 28! She is a mother of three. Susan says " I choose to be a board member because I believe that every kid deserves the opportunity to learn."

General Manager, Habitat for Humanity Re-Store
| Jodie moved to Sonoma from New York City 19 years ago. She earned her BA in Marketing from Hofstra University and is currently the General Manager of Habitat for Humanity Re-Store. In her professional career, Jodie has provided Product Development, Management and Supply Chain operations for several large corporations. Her clients have included such notables as Williams Sonoma and the Rite Aid Corporation. Jodie says that she choose to become a board member of SVEF because "every child deserves the best education they can get".

 Adam Stein
Director of Special Education, Napa Valley Unified Schools
| Adam is the Director of Special Education for Napa Valley Unified School District. For the eleven years prior to this position, Adam was a teacher. In addition, he spent ten years working as a consultant/administrator in special education. When asked about being a board member, he says "education is both my career and my avocation. I feel that the solution to many of society's problems lies in education". Adam has been a resident of Sonoma for the past 26 years. He is married with three children.

 Charles E. Young Chancellor Emertus Professor of Political Science and Public Policy UCLA
| Charles holds a Ph.D in political science from UCLA, and for nearly 30
years, he served as chancellor of UCLA. His inaugural pledge was to
advance UCLA "from the second level of good universities, to the first rank of excellent universities".
Most recently, Charles was CEO of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los
Angeles. He resides locally and has recently joined our board. |
